Do You Know Where Tortilla Chips Originate From?

Today you can look up just about any restaurant delivery menu (https://rotr.com/) and find chips and salsa somewhere on it. And while this appetizer is usually thought of as being a Mexican dish, did you know that the tortilla chip actually originates in Los Angeles, California?

It’s true. Even though people in Mexico have been using tortillas since the beginning of time in many of their most famous (and many not so well-known) dishes, it wasn’t until they hit L.A. It was during that time that the tortillas that were commonly used in the Southwestern United States made their way into California. It didn’t take long until in the 1940s they hit Los Angeles. From there they were cut up, fried up, and served up as delicious salty snacks. Tortillas that are used in authentic Mexican dishes are usually made from flour where the ones used for chips are generally corn tortillas. And even though the chips first started being dished up in Los Angeles, they are still classified as a Mexican dish, as they are often served with salsa (a Mexican condiment,) and because the tortilla does originate from Mexico.

The chips are still thriving in California though and are a favorite among many Los Angeles residents. While they were once considered a restaurant specialty, they’re now available on many Los Angeles food delivery (https://rotr.com/Information/Restaurants.aspx?areaId=5) menus and are great whether you’re looking to order in for a birthday party, office food delivery (https://rotr.com/Restaurant.aspx), or just when you want a snack!

Have an Office Event? Use Corporate Catering

Whether it’s the annual barbecue your company holds every year for its sponsors; or there’s a big conference coming up with the CEO and other big executives in the company, you’re going to need a menu. While it may seem like a small part of the event, that menu can also be one of the most stressful. The food that you serve will represent your company ,the quality of service and care it provides, and be a large part of the lasting impression that’s made. Because of that, you need to look beyond typical restaurant delivery (https://rotr.com/Information/aboutus.aspx), and look to corporate catering.

Corporate caterers are generally caterers that are used to dealing with large groups of high-priority clients or big-name executives, and are accustomed to meeting their needs in a very professional manner. Corporate caterers have a way of making sure that everyone always has a plate full of food, a full glass, and anything else they could ever need, while managing to fade into the background, and not take over the event’s ambience. This is much different than other food delivery (https://rotr.com/) that will simply drop the food off at your door and leave you to serve it and clean up afterwards.

When you need to take your service, and food, up a notch for your next corporate event, call a professional corporate catering like Pomodora delivery (https://rotr.com/Landing.aspx?id=BNHA1676bn.) They have items for every appetite, and will bring the professionalism and service that corporate requires. If Pomodora’s not for you, stop by Restaurants on the Run, and check out our full listing of catering companies in Los Angeles.
